General Information
Bli Bli Little Athletics is affiliated and incorporated with Little Athletics Queensland (LAQ). The Centre is part of the Sun Coast Region which includes the following Centres:
BLI BLI, CABOOLTURE, CALOUNDRA, DECEPTION BAY, GLASSHOUSE DISTRICT, GYMPIE, MALENY, MAROOCHY, NAMBOUR, NOOSA, SOUTH BURNETT, UNIVERSITY OF THE SUNSHINE COAST and WAMURAN.
CENTRE UNIFORM
Turquoise polo shirt with maroon binding around the sleeves and a maroon collar. Maroon shorts/briefs/cycle pants.
SHOES
Shoes are compulsory for all events at Centre, Regional and State level. Athletes from under 13 to under 17 age groups may wear spikes in laned and unlaned events (excluding walks), jumping events and javelin. Under 11 and under 12 age group may wear spikes in all laned events, jumping events and javelin.
Any spike shoe without spikes may be worn in unlaned events.
Please note: For safety reasons spike shoes must be carried to the event and removed at the completion of that event.
Upon registration, you will receive:
1. A registration number to be sewn on the front of your shirt.
2. An age label to be sewn on the left sleeve.
3. IGA patch to be sewn on the right sleeve.
Your name and the season must be written on the registration label with a permanent marker pen. (ie: 09/10 Jack Smith). The above labels are to be sewn on your shirt within 7 days of receiving them.
SEASON October to April
DAY & TIME Saturdays from 2.30 pm (for a 3pm start) to 5.00pm
VENUE McMartin Park, 44 Lefoes Road, Bli Bli.
TRAINING 4pm Thursdays. Training sessions help to fine tune techniques and skills. All are welcome to attend for a gold coin donation. Athletes are always welcome to turn up, but it assists in planning if we know who is intending to come along, so please let us know either by email or at competition if you think you will be there.
SUN SAFETY It is recommended children wear a hat and 30+ sunscreen as part of our Sun Safe policy and bring a bottle of water to avoid dehydration, whilst attending Little Athletics.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN It is recommended that parents or carer’s have or apply for the Positive Notice blue card for Child Related Employment.
INSURANCE Every registered child and their parents when involved in Centre activities is covered by insurance through Queensland Little Athletics.
MEETINGS Meetings are held monthly. All Centre Committee Members are welcome to attend.
REFUNDABLE HELP LEVY
Each family upon registration will pay a refundable help levy. This levy will be refunded at the end of the season when the family helps out 12 times during the season - Duties can include, but not limited to:
• Assisting field / track events
• Age Marshalling
• Time Keeping
• Canteen Assistance
• Assisting at Regional and Association days
• Assisting to help set up and pack up competition
• Working Bees and Fundraising Events
• Track marking & Groundskeeping
To keep our Centre strong and efficient we will need your help.
Parent help is vital, as we are all volunteers.
NO SMOKING
All Little Athletics competition grounds and buildings are smoke free areas.
